To Stay a Vampire or Not?
Must have picked up the bug while freeing (killing) all the vampires in a cave for Azura.

To late for the easy cure of taking a potion of Cure Disease or visiting your local temple before three days have passed.

It has some advantages. I just went through a mine and cleaned it out using Hunter's Sight. Basically it is Night Eye and Detect Life at the same time. Very useful.

While I was there I picked up one Grand Soul Gem and I need 4 more to find out what the cure is from a witch. Then I can pass that knowlege onto a count who is a vampire so he can help his wife who is a vampire. The plot thickens.

Bad news is going outside in daylight is a bit painful and I have to constantly cast Heal Minor Wound. Actually that was when I knew something was wrong and started checking my stats and found out I was a vampire.

I figured out the easiest way to feed was from my fellow mages at the mages guild. Feeding keeps pain to a minumum.

Cannot make up my mind which way to go.

just have to be mindful that once you've cured your vampirism, you can't (easily) become a vampire again, so you have to weigh the benefits of stage 4 vampirism against the cons

As Dr Dro says DisableVampRace.dll do great work.
If you are using obse, installing DisableVampRace is good solution.
My Gray Fox had been a vampire for a while being a vampire do only benefit for Thief life.

playing as a Vampire in Oblivion is a royal pain,while you get some great bonuses you're stuck to night activities and some people will attack on sight (the way it should be ) plus getting caught for blood sucking isn't fun,if you have the Vile Lair DLC it's an easy cure,but now you've started the quest i'd keep going....doing the MQ as a vampire isn't easy

I think I will play it out as a Vampire till I get the 5 Grand Soul Gems. It is either that or load an earlier game and fix myself while I can.

no pun intended, but being a vampire really does suck (from personal experience) the sun kills you and you have to feed and everyone is scared of you

i tried to do a vampire playthough years ago....it's like eating a poisoned apple and trying to stay alive

I backed up a bit and restarted. I did not lose much but a few hours of play time. I am already passed where I was when I stopped.

PS. I really do miss Hunter's Eye. Makes dungeon crawling a breeze.
