The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

Links to must have mods?
I've had Oblivion in my library for a while now, and I got bored of Skyrim, and am ready to try it out. Are there any must have or popular mods (like bugfixes, graphics, content, etc)?

Now here's a mod that can be pretty hard to find! (At least it used to be)

Elsweyr: Deserts of Anequina

There's a Remaster in the works! Really looking forward to this.

If there's some way to donate to these guys, I'd totally help support them. Modders put tons of hours into such amazing passion projects only to publish them for free and for nothing in return.
Steam used to house all the mods. Is Nexus Mods the official place to go for Oblivion mods now? Very concerned about downloading a virus. Very, Very cautious.

Nexus has always been the main hub for Elder Scrolls and Fallout mods, plus most moddable games in general. Steam Workshop has only been introduced some time after the release of Skyrim.

The workshop works just as well, sometimes. The issues is, from what I've heard, the workshop isn't really good at installing any complex mods, like any that would require you to pick and choose specific parts you want.

As for Oblivion, nexus mods has always been the place to get mods for it. Always has been, always will be. You're completley safe downloading anything from the Nexus.

No, Steam has only ever housed the mods for Skyrim. For any other Bethesda game you need to go to Nexus. And don't worry about a virus, Nexus is a safe site. You're just being paranoid.
Oblivion Stutter Remover (there is a known bug with it that disables weapon sounds, there is a fix, google it if you get the bug)

Qarls Texture Pack

Oblivion Character Overhaul

(Requires this)

ENB, this is my preferred.

And finally, if you want an overhaul mod, Maskars has the least conflicts.
