Unofficial Oblivion patches and Nexus Mod Manager
Hello

I'm trying to install the three oblivion unofficial patches for the base game, Shrivering Isles and the other DLCs which can be found here: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/top/?

But when I try to install a second patch it asks me if I want to overwrite files or not

So my question is...What's the correct way to install these three patches without conflicts and should I overwrite when it asks or not?

Ty in advance

I am not 100% sure because it has been a while, but because the names of the Unofficial patches are similiar the first question it asks might be do you want to upgrade, you should select no, then select yes on the next prompt, which should be something about installing it.

It is generally not a good idea using NMM for Oblivion, unless you really know what you are doing as most mods are not compatible, but from what I can tell the Unofficial patches should be okay.

It is generally not a good idea using NMM for Oblivion in the first place, unless you really know what you are doing as most mods are not compatible, but from what I can tell the Unofficial patches should be okay.
Thanks for the reply, I didn't know NMM wasn't a good way to install Oblivion mods

So any mod I want can be installed with Oblivion Mod Manager you say?

Nexus mod manager can only be used to install mods that contain a data folder or any sub folders, such as textures, meshes, sound etc.

If you open the Unofficial Patches file you will see they have no data folder, but do have data sub folders so should be okay to use with NMM.

However many Oblivion mods come packaged as Omods or for a BAIN install, which contains an 00 Core folder and other similiar named folders. Those files will not be compatible with NMM, unless they also come with a fomod installer for use with NMM, which is rare.

Oblivion Mod Manager or TES Mod Manager are ideal for Oblivion modding.
