The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

A good place to get beat up on?
I want to boost my heavy armor, it's sitting at 17 right now. Where's a good spot to just chill and heal myself while I get wailed on? And is it quantity or intensity of the strike that yields better experience?

Quantity is what counts, so a swarm of rats is more effective than a single ogre. Be careful you don't have damage reflection abilities when dealing with weaker enemies.

The Staff of the Everscamp[en.uesp.net] provides a convenient way to gather a modest group of attackers at any location you wish.

I usually just enter the arena and set difficulty to easiest.
But you could...persuade a guard to fight you, I'm sure his friends won't mind helping either.
Or you could walk into an oblivion gate and knock on every door you come across.

Rockmilk cave works pretty well for this!

Depending on your morals in game, just attack some guards and refuse to surrender so they wail on you. Then just pay the fine or run off or slaughter them lol

If you’re using something dirty to attack you, be careful of diseases.

The Arena combatants or Guards won’t worry you with diseases

Arvena Thelas' basement worked like a charm, for some reason her rats didn't have any diseases and I got both my heavy armor and light armor up to like 80 in around 30 minutes hahaha

Rats are probably faster, but you can also conjure a creature attack it a bit and he will them attack you.

A little sparing, and you work up your conjuration.

Pack up a lot of repair hammers, some heal potions (pref homebrew) and maybe an extra suit of armour.

Go to Imperial Palace. Strike up a "conversation" with some guards and set difficulty to the easiest.

Keep using heal spells/potions.

When you start taking too much damage just stop the fight and repair your things.

Congrats you now have level 100 Heavy Armour in exchange for 40 septims or a night in that drunk tank with a particular aroma.

Using guards is a bit risky, as any nearby NPCs who like you enough may well decide to throw away their lives in order to defend you.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention. The imperial palace is mostly safe from this which is why I chose it. It does have some NPC's come through it but they're mostly dumb ones. But if you go into the interior of it it's just guards and Ocato I think.
