Best destruction custom spells/combos?
I find that custom spells can make one quite OP in this game. What are some of the most OP combos?

Mine: fortify restoration for 3 seconds to make my fortify destruction/magicka spells cost nothing, then touch spell for 100% weakness to all 3 elements, then all 3 elemental damage over 4 seconds. So far this one hit kills pretty much everything I run into.

Weakness to poison 100% for x seconds, then hit them with a high end damage attribute poison. Usually endurance, but strength or speed will basically freeze enemies in place. Another funny spell is paralyze for 1 second. It just makes your opponents fall over with almost no magicka cost.

Or, if you want to go all the way, weakness to poison 100% and weakness to element 100%, then hit them with an elemental poison.

If you have maxed out equipment and alchemy, a fire damage potion has a magnitude of 9 and duration of 38, giving 333 damage. With double weakness, it's dealing 1332 fire damage.

I mostly use two spells that do:
  • Paralyze in 20 feet for 1 second on touch
  • Fortify Magicka 100 points for 1 second on touch
  • Absorb Magicka 20 points for 1 second on touch
  • Weakness to Magic 100% in 20 feet for 4 seconds on touch
and then once enemies are weak enough, I follow up with either
  • Drain Health 100 points in 20 feet for 1 second on touch
  • Frost Damage 3 points in 20 feet on touch
or
  • Soul Trap for 2 seconds
  • Drain Health 100 points for 1 second on touch
  • Frost Damage 7 points on touch

The frost damage is entirely optional, I just put it there to be on-theme for my character.

Doesn't work so well for enemies that are immune to paralysis or absorb or reflect spells, though. For them I use chameleon and a bound mace. Why a bound mace, you ask? Because at 6x sneak damage, an enchantment wouldn't make any significant difference, so why not have the convenience of not needing to do repairs?

Ooh, another fun one is Fear for however long, and a low strength damage weapon/armour for the same duration. Enemies run, then charge back into combat just in time for their gear to fall apart.

That works? I was under the impression the duration doesn't work on disintegrate effects. Certainly doesn't work for my cursed constant effect disintegration rings.

Well bugger me, you're right. Maybe it's an effect from one of the mods i was running back in 2009 or something. Not used disintegrate since getting this on steam.

I don't think that work well once you get 100 destruction. Any skill boost above 100 has no effect whatsoever it seems, except from athletics and acrobatics. This then only work at lower levels. I myself have 100 destruction. I can boost it with another 100 points but the mana cost is the same.

The most important component is 'invisibility on self for <n> sec' as last effect, where 'n' is between 2 and 4. It's absolutely game-breaking cause no actor has 'see invis' not even the classical candidates like undead or vamps. 'See invis' as a magic effecr doesnt even exist.

So you can stand in front of them and blast away, while being perfectly safe. That the AI's reaction is standing there like morons mumbling 'must have been the wind' doesnt help them either.

Not necessarily the "best" but definitely amusing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VokTJWDrt4

Yep, use this with hand to hand to get close. A real giggle.
