4GB_Patch
Hi, I have the 4gb_patch program to increase my games performance and i was wondering, do i have to patch them every time i turn on my laptop ? Or does the app saves the game patches?

Assuming you mean this one[ntcore.com], it directly patches the executables you use it on. You don't need to repeat the process.

But why if i open the program it allows me to choose which executables i want to patch? If the app automatically patches any exe program i open then it shouldnt let me choose..

So just to confirm, you said that 4gb_patch automatically patches any executable program that i open right? Without needing to manually patch the exe file i want to use?

The patch is not made especially for Oblivion - you can use it to patch any program you want (though at your own risk). That's why you need to pick the program you want to patch.

If you patch a program, it will be changed so that it isn't limited to 4 GB RAM. Once patched, the chance sticks and you can forget about the patcher. Throw it away if you want, but there's really no reason to keep patching the same program.

You need to manually tell it to patch the EXE file you want to use. Once you've done this, you don't need to run the patcher on that EXE again, even after a reboot - the EXE you target is permanently altered.

I understand, and does this program really works? If for any reason i would like to unpatch the file i patched, how can i do it? Thx for your replies

The program tweaks a flag allowing the game to use more RAM than it otherwise would be able to access (so long as you're running it within a 64bit OS, at least). This'll prevent some crashes, but you shouldn't expect the game to run "faster" or anything like that.

The program makes a backup of the target before patching it, so the process of "unpatching" is basically you deleting the edited file and putting the original back in to place. The "really easy" way to do it is to just tell Steam to verify your game files - it'll spot the change and restore the original EXE for you.

Its "Work" because the "S" is used in the verb "does" ?

4gb patch used to patch exe and dll files (as per its instructions). I would suggest to keep copy of originals and patched files because steam can overwrite it if you reinstall game or repair it, or maybe Bethesda will push the update (unbelievable but still 0.0001% chance)
I use it myself, patched exe and 2 dlls in game folder, everything works with zero CTDs
