Water surfacing effect when loading new area
Every time I load the game, or enter a new cell (e.g., going through a door), this effect[streamable.com] occurs. My game is modded following this guide[wiki.step-project.com] using Wrye Bash as the mod manager. One of the mods is Oblivion Reloaded, and since I had an issue with the water animating at the wrong framerate earlier (since fixed), I'm wondering if this is related. To be clear, I've had this effect since I started the game in the sewers, it's just not bothered me until I went to the Imperial City and started going in and out of doors.

That's Oblivion Reloaded's Water Lens effect that's supposed to show on rainy weather and after you swim and come out of water... but for some reason applies even when there's no such conditions or transitions in place.

I assumed it's a bug, but good luck reporting it :)

In my case, I turned off the effect completely, and same for blood in lenses effect, since for me all of those "camera" effects are immersion breaking in a game... but that's just my taste ofc.

Are you sure that's what it is? It looks to me like you've got a weapon out and you're at a high level of Chameleon. I see that whenever I've a weapon out and have equipped the Ring of the Kajiiti.

It's definitely not Chameleon, and I was talking to an NPC in his shop so also no weapon.

Thanks, do you remember which line in the ini controlled it, or is it pretty self-explanatory? I do like the effect when it plays properly, but all the time was incredibly distracting.

Search for the line within OblivionReloaded.ini. Should be self-explanatory, something like WaterLens = 1. Change it to 0.

The actual ini format and location depends on the specific Oblivion Reloaded version you have installed... but yeah, as @StreamWhenGuy said, and assuming you have the last version installed, it's located inside the OblivionReloaded.ini, in the [Effects] section with that name he mentioned.

In older versions, they were located in the OblivionReloadedEsp.ini, IIRC... but the actual entry was named similarly.

Thanks guys, that helped. I do wish I could keep the effect enabled but I don't want to spend hours trying to figure out what script is misfiring.
