Steam Cloud Game Save???

So I got a virus on my PC and everything on it is encrypted except this one text file saying to email these Indians to decrypt my files. (Damn T Series).

My question is if my saves for my characters will still be there when I install Oblivion again. I created this character that is absolutely awesome. The character literally looks good in Vanilla and with the OCO mod.

I just want some sort of confirmation it will be okay.

Oblivion stores saves in your personal Documents folder, which the ransomware would've almost certainly have targeted.

However, if you had Steam Cloud enabled, then there's some possibility that your saves are sitting on Valve's servers and will be re-downloaded once you re-install the game.

Unfortunately it's not possible to check until you've got Oblivion set up again.

Thanks for the reassurance. I remember when Steam Cloud brought back a game saves before so if you are telling the truth, I have nothing to worry about. Thanks for letting me know.
