Looking for a fun, weird character build
Played this as a stealth archer last time, and now I want to try something different. Any good suggestions for something well-balanced?

I always wondered if it was possible to do a practical blunt-weapon mage build in this game. When I tried that in Morrowind it was an utter disaster. Elves (maybe I used a Breton, can't remember) are physically weak as hell, so my character was useless.

you can go perma bound mace with destruction magic, i usually go that way. bound weapons are weightless and maces do the most dmg per hit of one handed-weapons (but are slower and way heavier, which will eat your stamina quite fast. bound weapons eliminates that).

as for being "physically weak", the only difference between races are the starting skill bonuses and powers, the rest depends on how you build your character.

"Weak" in relation to physical combat. My Breton sword build was a trainwreck in Morrowind. I think they are designed for magic not straight combat. Maybe I just allocated points poorly.

i usually play Breton, never had an issue with it, tho Dark Elves might be easier to start (fire resistance) and are cannon in Morrowind. (lol Nerevar is reborn as a Breton and goes chilling with his old Chimer pal), but NPC's will still call you a an outsider. once you've built your character, it's as good as any other...

btw, i love the "Breton" introduction scene in Oblivion: " Pale skin, snotty expression. You're a Breton! The masters of magicka, right? Hmph. Nothing but a bunch of stuck-up snobs with cheap parlor tricks"

I'm thinking of using a Dunmer with the Atronach sign. My magic is going to be empty all the time but on the plus side I'm 50% immune to magic and can destroy most mages. Guess I won't be using magic that often.
