Wyre Bash not working
New to modding, and I really want to get into this game, however I can't figure out how mods are to install manually and I figured that wrye bash was my first stop, yet when I open the installer it loads as E:/Wrye Bash 307 Beta 5.1 - Standalone Executable and "This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or if one is already installed, create an association in the default apps settings page." Help would really be nice. All I want to install is an FOV slider mod simply, and don't want this to take hours to figure out, so I'm asking here. Have no clue what's going on.

I can help you as i found out how to do it recently, but first things first: You are getting the mod from Nexus, correct? If you are, then there is an ultra easy way to install mods in literal seconds.

yeah I’m downloading from nexus website but I’m not using vortex since that didn’t work for me, I’m trying all this manually

Just a quick warning, wrye bash won't work if your user directory has any special characters, such has any lettering besides those included in an American keyboard because of python limitations

there’s nothing wrong with it though. I guess my question is what application do I need to run wrye bash? All videos I see online of people doing it have windows 7

Have you gone through Wrye Bash docs[wrye-bash.github.io] for installation? Just checking, making sure.

Which version are you trying to use? The installer from Nexus? Or the Python based one?

Basically, for Wrye Bash to work in your system in Python form you'll need to install Python 2.7.x, and a small list of python packages[wrye-bash.github.io] that are required to run Bash, like pywin32, wxPython, etc

Once those are in place and your Python are correctly installed, Bash should run with no problems, other than permissions, virtualization and such that could come up if you're trying to mod the game in the default Program Files folder... in that case, most issues can probably be side-stepped by running Bash as Admin.

I figured it out. I needed to download 7zip. Thank you though
