Looking for a way to bypass battle music...
I'm looking for a way to completely bypass battle music while keeping the normal music playing, uninterrupted.

I've tried using this method: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/10876
It doesn't work for me. It works based on a glitch with the original game. I'm using the Unofficial Patch and EMC2, so maybe one (or both) of those is fixing/bypassing the glitch.

If I just remove the 'Battle' folder from the music directory, that makes the music go silent while in combat, then resume afterwards.

I've never really been a fan of the combat music in any of Bethesda's games. The way they implement it always ends up annoying me after a few hours of gameplay. I'd just rather hear all the other great tracks instead of being interrupted by blaring combat music.

Any suggestions?

Well you can replace battle tracks with exploration tracks, but they will still interrupt. Audio mods that change how music behaves might help with that. There are a few on the nexus but I can't check at the moment.

I'm searching around for music that I can tolerate to replace the battle music, but I'd still rather just have no interruptions. I'm already running Enhanced Music and Control, but I'm not sure if there's a way I can use it to bypass battle music.

Check the features in the description: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/44108/
It's not compatible with EMC, though.

The way battle music runs has been a peeve of mine for a while now. Currently I'm useing DMS (Dynamic Music System) which requires, among other things, EMC2 to run. OBSE and REID are the other 2 requirements. It's not a cure-all, but it works pretty well. You can set the ini file to have battle music not go off when creatures 'x' levels below yours approach, so a least you don't have to have battle music for every freakin' mudcrab. It seems to have a lot of options, but I have yet to explore many of the options.
p.s. - I think the ini files are a seperate download.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll give it a look. I've just resorted to replacing the battle music with something less intense, but it's still a distraction.
