Yes, every once and a while like when loading a new area but its not to consistent exept for the door which is broken every time i try.
Yea this happens to me too, i guess maybe mods cause it to overload and just crash cos it cant handle it. Hard to believe since oblivion is so old but it happens to everyone. How often does it happen to you though?
When ever i enter the impirial city and ocasionaly when entering a new area.
Despite all the patches, fixes, etc., the game engine still struggles with doors and autosaving while loading a new area. This will drastically reduce the frequency of crashing.
No problem. I just bought this myself, since I couldn't get an old cd copy to install properly and have similar specs. (1050Ti, though.) Turning off the autosaves fixed 99% of my crashing when transitioning. Here's some other tips I found that might be helpful.
If you haven't read it elsewhere, beware of how many save files you keep. The game gets more and more unstable if you have too many of them.
Spam away on "quicksave," if you like, but this too has a warning. Quicksave files are more likely to become corrupted. Hard saves (in an interior cell) are less likely to get corrupted. Using the "Continue" button in the Main menu is also advised against, as this can sometimes corrupt save files. Always manually Load a game.
Last anti-crashing tip: When you load into a new area, especially after fast travel, pause for a second or two and look around. The game sometimes takes its time to fully load everything and will bog down or fail hard if you run faster than it can render the landscape or objects.
Graphics-wise, don't forget to use the nvidia controls to force 16x anisotropic and set Ambient Occlusion to high quality.
This makes a huge visual difference with minimal fps impact.
You can also use the nvidia controls to force anti-aliasing while turning off the game's AA, which might make it more stable. At the very least, it will look better...
Sorry for the long post, (too much coffee this morning...
Thanks for the tips.
