Need help installing Unofficial patches
Hey guys,

I have the GOTY edition, but I haven't installed the Unofficial Oblivion Patch or the Shivering Isles Patch ( Unofficial ) or that DLC Unofficial patch thing.

I tried using Wyrm or whatever, and then I tried OBMM, and somehow I managed to mess things up. It didn't work.

I had to re-install Vanilla GOTY edition. ( Good thing I backed up the game before way back in the day ).

Can someone please give me a step-by-step walkthrough on how to install those 3 patches PLEASE. When I was installing them it said there was a conflict with other mods, but only other mod I have installed is that "Bag of Holding". Highly doubt it was that.

Can someone PLEASE help me here with a walkthrough on how to install these 3 friggen patches please.

Do you HAVE TO use Wyrm / OBMM to install these patches? Isn't there like an .exe file for these patches where you double-click on it and it patches automatically? Do you HAVE TO use this mod manager thing?

EDIT: I have the Steam version of the game, patched to the latest version.

1) Extract the patches into the game's Data folder - Oblivion patch first, Shivering Isles patch second, say Yes to any overwrites.

2) Install and run OBMM.

3) Tick the patch files. Make sure each one is sitting directly underneath the corresponding official plugin - for example, highlight "Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch.esp" and then use the "move up" / "move down" buttons until it's sitting directly underneath "DLCShivering Isles.esp".

That's it, you're done. Any other mods you wish to enable, such as the Bag of Holding mod, should be positioned underneath the patches on the list.

Thank you for this, but I must be an idiot.

Step 1 - Done

Step 2 - Done

Step 3 - Done

When I do that "Create" thing and the patch is showing on the right hand side, I get an error.

When I load the game it crashes too.

Screw it, too much of a hassle. Thx anyways my good friend.

Sorry for burrying out.

Similar question.
Starting to prepare Oblivion after 7 years again.
When i make omod-files with OBMM and put those in the correct order directly under the DLC-files they belong to, a bunch of conflicts is protocolled between nearly all DLCs and the patches for those. Omod is coloured yellow instead of green. Is that normal?

I have a bad feeling when there are such probs right at the beginning of my modding.
Everybody recommends to use a modmanager and not to install the patches manually (I wouldnt know how to do). So can i be sure there wont be problems?

Thanks for reply
