30 fps on oblivion?

I just recently got a graphics card for my computer, A Radeon Rx 580 8G. Before installing the GPU i was running Oblivion off the onboard Intel GPU and getting 60 fps. CPU is an i5 7600. After installation i figured that i would have enough video power to run on at least high. When i started the game up it seemed to be locked at 30 frames. V-sync is off i double checked it and i am at a loss.

Well... it wasn't once upon a time. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up something in the last few months cause I can't load a save or start a new game without a ctd now so it will be a bit before I get that video made lol gotta go back to wrye bash and figure it out.

Still locked at 30fps after that? And are you using any mods at all or plugins with the script extender?

It's all in the mods man lol. More heap and enboost do a lot of the heavy lifting to make this happen. And a lot of ini file edits lol. Yep can do the same with fo3 and nv. And no need to be sorry. A lot of people on here talk ♥♥♥♥ and don't back it up lol I only ever speak from experience and will always provide some evidence if people want it just so they know it can be done.

Was the ipresentinterval the problem??? Yea i would cap the frames at 60 because almost all bethesdas games engines are tied to the framerate. So try enabling vsync through you gpu control panel. As for mods... Give me a minute and I'll compile a good starting list for ya.

yes the ipresentinterval was the problem for some reason when i clicked a new graphic setting it auto turned on. alright will enable vsync through GPU

Oh yea everytime you open the options from the launcher it defaults back to what is set in the default.ini file. check out your display settings in windows and see if it's set to 30hz instead of 60hz refresh rate.

Pretty sure the havok physics are tied to the frame rate and messing with it can cause all kinds of spasms and such, it speeds the entire game up, but not in a good way. It's like playing a video at x2 speed, the game wasnt made for 60 fps, simply wasnt built for it.
