The Collector quest--still buggy?
Has anyone completed The Collector quest in this Steam edition? When I tried to play it 10 years ago, the Seyda Neen Ayleid tower (or whatever it was) did NOT have an artifact, thus rendering the quest unworkable. Several players wrote last yer, asking about this. (The thread has since disappeared.) Most answers said it worked, but nobody ever claimed to have finished the quest. Many answers argued with the questioner, insisting that the quest was certainlyt workable on disk, and what did people mean by insisting that it wasn't?

A little history here: When Oblivion first came out, The Collector quest was okay. The Prima Official Game Guide for PC and Xbox 360 gave full instructions for completing the quest. In the meantime, some players pointed out to Bethesda that there was another glitch or two in the game. Bethesda then updated the game, not noticing that the artifact in Seyda Neen was removed. The updated version was incorporated into all the disks manufactured from then on. Those of us who came later to the game were thus unable to finish said quest.

So may I assume, then, that The Collector works as originally planned?

UESP lists the ten locations containing statues[en.uesp.net], and Seyda Neen[en.uesp.net] isn't among them. Probably just as well, as you can't go there in Oblivion.

I'm guessing you're talking about Sardavar Leed[en.uesp.net], which never had a statue, but was incorrectly mentioned in (the first edition of) the Official Game Guide.
