Does night time effect sneak?
I've decided to make a new playthrough with the announcement of ES6 and I've made a thief/assassin character. Anyways... I've never really made a character based around sneak before in Oblivion before and was wondering if the night time helps when sneaking? If not, then what does? You know what, just give me some tips on how to be a good sneak character lol

I'm fairly certain the shadows impact the AI's ability to see you, so i don't see why night time wouldn't as well?

As with everything in oblivion, it's harder - you start off and you suck, you level up and you become a badass.
Unlike with skyrim you can't start off as capable, so generally my only tip would be to get used to sucking until your character gets better!

Sadly the stealth isn't quite as good as in other games, you will attack and you will be detected. I've not made a high level stealth character yet though so in all honesty i'm unsure of what it's like at higher levels.

Hit me up if theres anything i didn't answer.

Pump up Illusion skill as fast as you can. Illusion school has Chameleon spell, which is almost same as Invisiblity, but it will only go off when you Dispel it or the duration is ended.

With 100 or even like 75 points of Chameleon, you don't have to worry about being spotted.

Magic in this game is insanely powerful and surprisingly lot of people don't realize it. You can litterally do everything better with magic.

Light affects your sneak. More so than sound. Even at night, if you're next to a light source, you will be more easily spotted.
