Keyboard not working
I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it; no mods at all. I try to make a new character but when I need to enter the name the keyboard won't type. I've tried going into the ini file and enabling background keyboard and when that didn't work I tried disabling joystick controls, as I read similar issues and these were the solution. Also I don't know if my mouse is working as it should because I can't skip the opening cutscene or the slow menu build up. Don't know if you can or not but thought I'd add that. Any suggestions? Thanks.

editing oblivion.ini helped me. I have changed bBackground Keyboard from "0" to "1".
