The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

Which merchant is the richest?
Which merchant has the most gold to sell items to? I have a bunch of items from Shivering Isles worth 3000 and 6000 each and I'd like to make the best profit so I can buy that baller house in Skingrad.
Thanks

If you don't mind using the console you can use the setbartergold command to add gold to any merchant. I've heard there can be problems if you use the same merchant too much but never had it happen myself.
Hit ` to open the console, click on the merchant you want to edit, type setbartergold 9999 and hit enter. The amount of money they can trade with should now be 9999, you can go higher but too high can cause issues.

In retrospect there wasn't any point in making this thead lol I looked at the same page lastnight, thought maybe someone else might know something they didn't.

I glitched this game to high heaven back on 360, trying to avoid console commends.

From memory, 1200 gold is the most any merchant carries by default. I think most of them were dlc merchants

The merchants added by the housing DLC carry 2000 gold by default - I like the one for the Fighter's Stronghold the best because he buys most everything.

But if you don't have those DLC you're ♥♥♥♥ out of luck because I don't think you can buy them individually anymore, only as a pack - and if you already own Oblivion on Steam, then you'd have to actually remove your ownership of it before you could buy the full pack - and it's not like you'd get a discount, either, you'd literally be throwing the game away.

It's dumb.

Kind of. I just bought (or re-bought) Oblivion GOTY Deluxe on Steam for $10 just for the DLC. I already had the retail version of Oblivion. $10 for all the DLC is worth it.

Oh, definitely.

Except Horse Armor. Horse Armor is a load of bull.

But the housing DLC gives you something to do with your money AND makes it easier to make more money.

My point is that if you want to buy the Deluxe edition but you already own the GOTY edition on Steam, you're SOL because you have to literally remove the game from your account entirely in order to buy the Deluxe edition.

You managed to do it just fine because you owned the retail version of Oblivion, so it wasn't a part of your Steam account.

At least in relation to vendors this doesn't matter so much - truth be told, most of the shopping I do is through mod-related NPCs.

Midas Magic for eg adds Midas himself to the university, who has something like 2k. OOO adds the smugglers and slavers - they take a bit of getting to (... Midas also adds travel spells which helps a lot with that), but they're sitting on 2.5k.
