How to fix the level scaling?
Tired of damage sponge enemies, don't mind a challenge but its just getting boring swinging away at a enemy in the face 100 times. Any way to fix?

Never had a issue with level scaling myself, was a matter of leveling up skills, getting better equipment, end game I was desimating everything in 1-2 shots O_o

The trick is to make sure you're not gimping yourself by having a lot of non combat primary skills boosting your level while your combat skills lag behind, otherwise everything else will just steamroll you as you've noticed. Enemies also respond differently to types of damage so you'll want to diversify. Enchant your weapons, poison them, take advantage of sneak attacks, use alteration spells to boost your defenses, use paralyzing or other stat altering spells on your enemies. Is your strength sufficient enough to facilitate your swordplay? Is your equipment durability low and needs to be repaired? Are you using a good sword and not some poopy one you found a while ago? You'll want to take all of these things into consideration instead of just spam swinging a weapon. While I do agree that some enemies later on such as ogres and goblin warlords can be spongy, they're still manageable if you've been keeping up with your skills and equipment.

The only enemies that are sponges later on are those who increase their hp every level so it might be easiest to avoid such enemies. Most important is that you level efficiently so that you can reach lowest level on which you can max out your atribbutes. You can check efficient leveling on UESP.Also if you dont mind it,you can always lower the difficulty but in my case i only play on max difficulty.Use enchanted weapons in combination with weakness spells. There are some overpowered combos like this that you can either find on UESP or somewhere on discussion websites.I personally dont use these kind of combos since they allow you to kill lvl 255 ogre that has 4k hp in just 5 seconds. Also like na shagul said, use poisons since they can be stacked and arent affected by difficulty and alchemy is second quickest skill to level.Summoning is another option since only you are affected by difficulty and not your summons, but later on even they struggle to kill sponges. One of best summons is lich since it casts some usefull spells like weakness spells and has some pretty good staves.Altho be careful since they can cast aoe spells that will affect you too.Use enemies weaknesses against them, all daedra are weak to shock, zombies are weak to fire but resist blade weapons ,high elves are weak to all three elements, xivilai have stunted magicka but have 50 % spell absorption and so on.Again you can check this on UESP. Repairing your weapons over 100% will give them extra damage and hp.Damage over time spells are good since they deal a lot of damage but over time and it gives a feeling like enemies die quicker,at lesast to me.Use natural environment to your advantage like cliffs to knock you enemies off them which will help you a lot since fall damage also isnt affected by difficulty and is good source of damage.
Yea I try to do efficient leveling, leveling up only skills I plan on using so that way I dont wind up being a level 20 with no combat skills fighting ogres and such. My difficulty slider is at the default middle point and im not using any mods. By the time I get to level 10+ on any character I create all the enemies end up as damage sponges...

That I'd have to see to believe, unless you went on a lvl1 run and your endgame was just fighting rats and goblins.

if you take time to understand the levelling up system then you won't have any issues, playing on max difficulty with no armour myself and not having much trouble

oh but for the "fix" turn the difficulty down, you're clearly too weak if it's taking 100 hits on default difficulty

Than you must be low level.
@ lvl 50+, high elve apprentice and highest difficulty a Xivilai can one-hit you with a fire spell if you dont wear the best gear.

Go get some unique weapons and Azuras star.
I guess the best weapon with the highest dps is the Blade Of Woe. It does up to 65 damage each hit and has a high attack speed because it is a dagger. Normal difficulty should be very easy.

I got "Balanced Creatures" and "Automatic Attributes" for my most recent game and so far I have quite liked them. Both are on the nexus.
