As for your concerns about save files, I believe it's compatible. You can probably still continue playing the game where you left off.
You'll need to either purchase a Deluxe key from a third-party seller, or have your GotY license removed from your account.
So long as you don't delete them, you can certainly continue with your old saves once Deluxe is installed. It simply "adds on" to your existing installation.
check the data file tab in the launcher to see what dlc files you have available.
80% of people who got the goty from steam go gog or pirate the dlc(sry if late answer).
Bethesda fault for not putting upgrade or buy seperatly.
at the game of the year deluxe edition steam page it says that i own it and that its already in my library but when i launch the game i only have the shivering isles and knights of the nine...where is the rest of the content i payed for
