Cure Disease on disease carriers
When I was browsing the lists of diseases in Oblivion, I found that many beggars carry diseases, and may inflict you such disease if they ever attack you.

Since the player can make Cure Disease on either touch or target, can you actually cure those poor beggars, make them free from the role of the disease carriers?

According to Notes section of the Beggars entry on UESP, it will indeed work. Better yet, it's PERMANENT! The one exception to this is Larthjar the Lagged, because he's not infected with anything.

Wow. I actually didn't think it will work. Now I have a new task of creating a custom Cure Disease on Touch spell to cure those poor souls.

If only you can do this in real time, and works like it's in game.

This is Cyrodiil we're talking about - altars to the Nine are everywhere. Those beggers were probably treasuring those diseases.

I think they actually can't use the altars to cure them as they do not have enough fame over their infamy to activate them. They are working for the Gray Fox afterall, so it's only natural that the gods don't show the favors to them.

As we're on the subject of aiding beggars you might also consider providing them food as all NPCs, as part of their schedules, have to eat at least once a day and doing so requires them to have a food item in their inventory. If they don't have anything on them they'll start checking nearby containers(you can hear them doing this in the Market District of the Imperial City) or perhaps even passing NPCs which will result in the guards killing them for pickpocketing.

Interesting thread I didn't know the beggars carried diseases ... All this time playing the game and still learn something new!

The best cure is death, They are freed of poverty, hunger, need, want, disease, poison, sadness etc but don't let my inner psychopathy get in the way of your good deeds :)

The reason beggars can feel good about begging is because they have the disease ... if you cure them they'll probably need to get a job. Or perhaps jump for joy for being rid of a disease they had for life!

A few times I've contracted influenza when standing near a begger but I'm not sure if that's added by the begger mod that gives more options to interact with them. I would really like a mod where you help beggers and gradually see them getting out of poverty and getting employment and a home. Just journal updates would do. Or a courier with a note from the Count And Countess thanking me for helping get their son/daughter back in work.

I've noticed in towns like Bruma and Bravil if I stand around for long enough the town guard suddenly decide to start slashing at a random begger. Maybe they give the guard a disease which is counted as a crime.

How many beggars do we help in RL?
I help beggars more in this game than normal people in this game, especially once I've started the thieves guild quests. I do offer gold each time I pass them ... to help them buy food?
