Oblivion starts with vortex, but won't work with steam
Im trying to get OBSE to work and everytime i launch oblivion through steam I get the launcher, and after pressing play It just goes away, and oblivion doesnt pop up it just says oblivion is running. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Next time, go with GOG.com. Just saying. Heck I bought a new copy just so I didn't have to play the buggy Steam version.

have you installed OBSE correct?
or are you using the obse_loader.exe?

Ok, now it crashes right as the bethesda logo shows up, I was trying to use bevilex's guide and all i have installed are the performance tweaks, dark ui darnified, and the unoficcial patches

An old game like Oblivion will likely have the compatibility issues with relatively new software such as Vortex. You better off using old Nexus Mod Manager, or just install mods manually.

I'm using OBSE with the steam DLL file. On the first start it will just close down again like in your case, but it works on the second start. I also have to manually close the "RunDLL" process after I'm done playing cause it will just stay open and hog resources.

Maybe that info is useful for you somehow.

Also, Oblivion Mod Manager works fine for me. The newer programs aren't really recommended.
