The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

"you cannot fast travel/wait while enemies are nearby"
Seriously, this has to be one of the most annoying things i have expericenced in oblivion so far, if you play as thief and get caught by the guards they will literally follow you to the ends of the worlds.

and even when you very far away from the "enemies" (like miles away) the game will still think they are chasing you. it's annoying.

and, to top it all of, if you are inside the thieves guild you can't kill anybody, meaning that you got let people follow you for as long as it's necessary.

Well, it all happened because you get caught, and you get caught when you have failed to sneak, doesn't it? Which means you're somehow bad at sneaking. No offence, though.

Utilize some of the spells which will help you sneaking pass them. Detect Life is a must in order to see through any guards beyond the walls. With Chamelon or Invisibility spell, you can close the Oblivion Gate without being seen once. Spells in this game is so powerful that makes everything easier than ever before.

I found that annoying too, but you can make them to forget about chasing you down by casting Invisibility spell and crouch still. They will immediate go "Where are you?" and sooner or later, the combat music will stop.

Use magic. It's literally the most powerful feature in the game and surprisingly amoun of people don't realize that.

Increase your stealth. Find the room someone is sleeping in, toggle crouch and auto walk and make the character face a wall. Go about your business. Come back and save. At this point you will have too much stealth, NPCs will literally be blind to your actions.

as far as im aware the thieves guild no killing rule only applies to murders commited during a thieves guild quest. strangely enough as far as i am aware they don' care in the slightest about any murders you commit while stealing outside of quests or just handling your own business. if i had to guess the devs didn't want to screw over anyone playing thieves guild and dark brotherhood at the same time.
