Corrupted Save File
Every time I wish to continue on main menu page, it tells me I have a corrupted save file, so it won't let me continue.
Then if I go into saved files, I click the one below the corrupt saved file (the last saved checkpoint), I will be able to play in game. Then, however, if I tried to save either overwrite the corrupted file or a brand new save, it will take me out of the game immediately.
Is there anyway to fix this?

Is that last game a quicksave or an autosave? Those tend to get corrupted more frequently due how the game generates them.

If you're having an issue with one of those, just delete it (shift+click) and load the previous save that works for you.

From now on, remember to save more from the menu that just rely on quick/autosaves.

Yeah for a whole day I had this problem.
I ended up restarting my laptop and somehow I was able to play again.
I felt as though it got corrupted due to perhaps messing with mod codes that I did not entirely know.
Mmm, I always quicksave.
Thank you for the feedback. :)
Also shame you're having the problem I had a few days ago Taako.
What have you tried to do to resolve it?
I'm not sure what I did. I was just thankful I could play it again.

Had this issue back when the game first game out pre-steam.
Don't think theres a fix.

OK, I have played this through twice as far as the game will allow. When my character gets leveled well up wonky things start to happen. A door will not open, etc. Especially bad in both plays through is a bright light will appear on the avatar and will grow until visibility is very difficult. Only a white light in the first game but the second shows white, then red, then blue. The lights do not go away. The same looking light as when healing the character, i.e., in a spiral. I read the 'solutions' when playing the first game, so the next time I did not save over a previous save at any time. I stayed completely out of the Shivering Isles. Various other remedies have not helped stay this problem. Worst of all, however, is the same complaints listed here. Saved games will not load at all. I delete games that will not load and go back to the last that does, yet the new saves will not load. After two plays through with the same problems and no resolution from the makers (who take our money) I am done with this game. Level 46 and have yet to even go to the Shivering Isles and this game corrupts again.

That is a bit unusual and odd.
I experienced some difficulties with the game when I first got it and had it installed, but again that was only when I was mucking around with the MOD codes, I just inputed, having no recollection or idea what they would do later on. That is when I experience some corrupted files.
Hmm, for you. Have you tried reinstalling them installing again?
Perhaps try a brand new character (I know it can sometimes be a pain), but to be honest I don't think it takes a fairly long time to level up the characters in this game. For me, I tend to normally stick to level 2 if I can, then max out all the character specs and then still play (pretty much invincible at this stage) and then just max out level when you feel like it.
Anyways, sorry side tracked. The point, what other ways have to tried to resolve this?
I'm not sure how I got out of a corrupted file (thankful, but not sure how).
But the game itself is bloody brilliant.
I'm sorry you're experiencing a lot more difficulties then I did, because the game is too good. At least some similarities too.
Bethesda Softworks do brilliant games. I to be honest have normally always been a console person, sometimes PC, but not solemenly PC before. So I think when MODS can be added to the game, I think that is when some bugs and errors occur a lot more simultaneously, especially when oneself does not know the outcome of the uses for it (I mean I'm not a whiz in codes - wish I was - but not).
Hope you can sort it out. You'd love Shivering Isles. Don't give up! :)
