Played for an hour, saves gone.
Hello all I played this game for an hour, and i noticed when I left the jail, it wouldnt save, so I tried some solutions. I minimized the game and ran it as an admin, maxmized it but then the game crashed. I only have one file called "autosave.bak" in my saves folder for oblivion. I thought the game was letting me save in the prision section, but I was wrong because wehen i relaunched the game, there were no saves... thanks in advance

yeah that means you didnt save i assume. there are settings i think that you can change when the game autosaves.

I did save though, I remember opening the save menu and saving multiple times during the prison escape
do you have any mods?

otherwise your saves might have been corrupted or deleted.

go to C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\Oblivion delete the ini file ( make a backup just in case ) restart the game it should generate a new one,it's possible there may be a problem in the ini file

Or open the INI file with notepad, look at this line SLocalSavePath=Saves\

what do I do with that line?

if it reads as SLocalSavePath=Saves\ it's fine, your not using a save game manager ?

When you try and quicksave F5 does it work ?

I havent tried the f5, I was doing it from the pause menu...

The Bitdefender engine from the AV I used had started blocking my access to the \my games\oblivion\ folder, and so none of my graphics settings or save games were taking.

After allowing the exe access to the folder again, everything was fine.
