Appropriate level for unique weapons
I've started a new game and one of the big mistakes I've realized I've made in my first game is that I've started Shivering Isles at level 9 and got Duskfang/Dawnfang at not even level 15(I don't remember exactly) and its damage at level 29 was just too small. It was like 18.18 for enemies at level 29 is just not enough. At least that's what I think. So,what would be the appropriate level to take these unique weapons so I can have them at their peak?If I got something wrong in this question, please tell me.

A lot of them peak at around level 30. I'd suggest looking up the Quest Award Leveller on Nexus, though. With that mod, they'll level up with you. Then your only problem will be that even the level 30 versions don't do enough damage at level 30, and you have to use weakness stacking anyway.

I have the opposite problem. I'm too high a level to find some rare items in random loot anywhere:
  • Short Sword of the Fang
  • Defiler
  • Axe of Hazards
  • Naked Axe
  • Pounder
  • Gauntlets of the Pugilist
  • Gauntlets of the Weaponmaster
These items are between level 2 and 6, I think, so it's more or less impossible to find them after level 16. If you want them, better get them quick.

We have mods they make Uniq Items level up with your level.

You can use this without OBSE
1) Quest Award Leveler - Now supports Battlehorn Castle [www.nexusmods.com]

If you installed OBSE AULIAS
2) Auto Update Leveled Items And Spells [www.nexusmods.com]

If you want to get every item at their best grade, you have to play carefully. Quest rewards are easy - don't do the quest until you're the right level. However, there are items that can be found all over the place, and if you enter a dungeon that has an enemy with a unique leveled weapon for example, entering the zone said unique is in sets that level forever.

I've been trying to work around this very issue myself. Before I enter any dungeon or even building in towns/cities I check at least 2 wikis to see if there're any leveled items (barring the general randomised respawning loot) in or on any chests, NPC shops, enemies or lying around on the ground.

Sadly, I haven't found a cheat sheet for what items you can safely get at each level, you have to gather that data manually.

... doesn't Dawnfang level up with you anyway? Its unique script should refresh it as you play.

I know a few things do level with you, but I don't think Dawnfang is one of them, I remember having a similar lack of power with Dawnfang since I first got it at level 22 a few years ago.

Yikes, you're right. That's a shame, as I consider it the best weapon in the entire vanilla game.

Mostly because it repairs and recharges itself, but there aren't many weapons that surpass its damage output, either.
