Some people need to run the game under compatibility modes. I use win xp service pack 3 and run as admin and it works for me

I run it on win 10 latest build with no problem. No need for compatibility mode or admin rights as long as install game outside of Program(x86) folder. That way Windows will not use User Account Control (UAC) which might cause trouble.

Working fine for me, other than the occasional lock up or crash on close. I run vanilla with no mods. Basic Win10 with updates.

Yeah man, as everyone says runs fine in windows ten. Sometimes you have to mess with some graphical settings (HD lighting or whatever its called) or run as admin if its giving you trouble but other than that it's crazy fun and runs well on my laptop. I would suggest some stability mods and graphics mods to modernize it a little more but thats just me. Have fun and if you have any troubles there are guides everywhere, you will be able to run it! May Talos Guide you!

I was running oblivion on windows 11 and then all sudden my it turned to nothings where I can’t see my character. My video picture quality is pretty high. Yea it doesn’t work on widows 11. It’s new software and Todd Howard is being stupid! He refused to update it again. Microsoft warned him future advanced that he’s game will not work in the future. I heard they are remastering oblivion in the year 2026.

I understand your concern. It's unfortunate that the situation with Oblivion's updates and modifications has led to legal issues. The gaming community often thrives on these enhancements. It's crucial to respect the intellectual property rights of creators like Todd Howard, while also appreciating the passion of fans who wish to expand on the original work. It's a delicate balance. As a friend, I advise staying informed and respectful of these complexities.

Todd Howard, like any creator, likely wants to protect his work's integrity. Unauthorized modifications could potentially harm the game's reputation or cause unforeseen technical issues. It's a complex situation with no easy solutions.

Todd Howard has been integral to the creation of many games, including The Elder Scrolls series (Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim), and the Fallout series (Fallout 3, Fallout 4, Fallout 76).
