Defense of Bruma (sigh)
Why in every videogame in existence is there always some cancer section where you have to protect one or more weaklings who die after only a few slaps, and have an actual deathwish ....facepalm. I hate these types of missions

Ok

they die from one hit of "friendly fire"

After some time playing Oblivion I started to reverse pickpocket sigil stone enchanted bound armor onto those NPC's because I hated them dying so easily. I would increase their health and increase their defense through shield or shock shield, so the daedra wouldn't kill them so easily.

But now after some time I instead boost those NPC's survivability using the Construction set, because I don't want them to die.

in this mission do the daedra relentlessly come until you enter the great gate? I mean at this point one of these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wants to die no matter how many times I reload, Ive actually done one save where I entered the great sigil gate with no one dead...and then closed the gate quickly and when I returned everyone except martin was dead pretty much. none of the main characters were alive basically.

this reverse pickpocketing thing will it get me a bounty?
Nezkeys Dec 29, 2016 @ 12:33pm
they run inside your line of sight and get killed by your own spells/blades. stupid
Nezkeys Dec 29, 2016 @ 12:34pm
"murder! murder! murder""

I mean I'm just gonna try healing them and not attacking /facepalm
Nezkeys Dec 29, 2016 @ 12:42pm
I think these daedra just keep on coming until you enter the big gate?
Nezkeys Dec 29, 2016 @ 1:01pm
well sack that save off...my bounty was 1000. I must have killed some soldiers. sigh

The best way to beat that mission is with Mehrunes Razor. Use a fortify Luck potion, spell or ability like Secunda's Opportunity from the Orrey dlc, then use the Razor to kill all the Daedra in a few hits.

When the great gate opens quicksave your game then kill each Daedra with one hit from the Razor by saving and reloading the game. Save after each kill and once the area is clear, quickly enter the great gate. People can still die though. Jaufre is the main one that gave me problems until I boosted his health.

The same technique is great for the final KOTN battle, if you want to save the original KOTN npc's.

follow missions too
Nezkeys Dec 29, 2016 @ 1:30pm
I dont have that weapon.

the main problem is the daedra are running straight past me and towards the plebs, and/or the stupid npcs are running into my spell/blade when I'm attacking a daedra, and it counts as murder.

As I found out...once you enter the gate only martin is safe. I might just let people die just so I can finish this stupid mission. Uusally I want to keep everyone alive but this mission is stupid

ah yeah its a useless item lol. raises them for like 10 seconds lol then they die again. what use is that lol

What you use here is going to depend on what you have, hit 'em with everything you've got.

It's generally easier if you pounce on the daedra when they emerge and cut them off, rather than wait until they're in melee with your allies. I usually use a lot of Paralyze poisons or spells to take them down, since an enemy that falls down in front of a bunch of guards dies quickly. A bow is helpful here, but running up to them and poisoning your weapon between swings also works.

Damage Health or triple damage Shock/Fire/Health poisons are helpful against anything but Atronachs. Meanwhile, I do as much damage as possible with Chillrend and/or Rockshatter. Silence is handy against the spellcasting daedra wearing the robes. Apotheosis is good against Spider Daedra and Daedroth types, so are strong Destruction scrolls like Electrocution.

Be careful not to poison your allies, obviously, since there's no easy way to fix that unless you have a very rare staff or some custom spells. This is one reason I try to engage the enemy as quickly as possible, while I still have some room to swing. If you're trying to hit something near your allies, aim for the legs from behind, this makes it less likely that you'll hit the wrong guy.

I also make sure I'm running whatever defensive potions and buffs I can, like Restore Health, Restore Fatigue, and Shield. You have time during Martin's speech to take care of this. Reapply them as necessary and mind your potion slots, letting them run out at the wrong time sucks.

Summon creatures if you can, since any additional target can draw attacks away from Martin. Your horse and some followers can be brought to this battle, but it may not be worth losing them.

Generally you want to damage or debuff as many enemies as possible, so your allies can finish them off for you. If you don't finish one off and he gets past you, just go weaken the next one.

Also, save before this battle in a new slot, since this mission is notorious for causing crashes. Save again in a new slot when you make it into the Great Gate, it's easy to get lost in there.

I hope this helps. Good luck. :steamhappy:
