Damage Attribute Spell?
I first played Oblivion back in 2008 on xbox 360 and I swear I was able to make custom damage attribute spells, which naturally means that I somehow obtained a damage attribute spell from somewhere. Here I am playing eight years later on pc and I can't find a damage attribute spell anywhere. So I looked it up on the wiki and it says there is no damage attribute spell available and the only way to obtain it is to use console commands which is impossible on xbox 360. So my question is, how was I able to make customs damage attribute spells back then? As a side note I was also able to make fortify skill spells on the 360 version by buying a fortify skill spell from a chapel priest but again when I looked it up on wiki it said that only fortify skill spells are sold at Dunburrow cave. Did something change in the latest version?

There is also a set of Drain Attribute spell effects and any Orc can make those, because their greater power has a Drain Agilty penalty. Maybe you're thinking of those?

I was playing as a Breton both then and now because it's my favorite race to play as and it was definitely a damage attribute spell. I remember permanently damaging enemys' speed and strength to the point where they couldn't move as well as messing around with the gatekeeper on the Shivering Isles and damaging it's attributes. The only thing I can think of is maybe I had a damage attribute effect on me which allowed me to make the spells. I'm not sure that's possible though.

I have a theory on how it may have been possible to use the spellmaking altar for creating damage attribute spells.

As you may or may not be aware, there are actual damage attribute spells already in the game. However they are normally not available in the game for use. You can access the spells using the Construction set and you can even add them to your character using console.

Now since you couldn't use console on xbox, here is where my theory comes into play.

There is a rare glitch in the game that that will randomly cause you to learn a random spell in the game out of nowhere when quick loading saves.

There are a couple instances where I quicksaved a game before entering the Oblivion Realm so I could reload the save if I didn't get the specific Oblivion world I wanted or saving my game before entering a certain area hoping for a specific item to be generated in a chest. Reloading the game multiple times has occasionally caused the glitch and I learned a random spell.

There is a possibility that you experienced the glitch and randomly learned one of the damage attribute spells. The programming for damage attribute spells to unlock the Spellmaking altar is already in the game, so if you learned the spell through the glitch, you would have been able to create spells with it.

I agree with kitten but it could have also been the works of the Mandela Effect. A phenomenon in which many things have changed from what people remember, even subtle details such as the ford logo or the Berenstein Bears now being the Berenstain Bears. Sorry for necroing, just thought since no one mentioned this well known phenomenon I thought I'd add it in this discussion. And why I mention the Mandela Effect is because maybe there used to be damage attribute spells to buy and now you can't anymore. Just how in Skyrim there used to be a dragon above Bleak Falls Barrow that would fly away when you got close to the place.

We could be looking at a case of the Mandela Effect. After all, it's popped up in all sorts of places. However, I'm not sure that it's actually what we're seeing, as one of the main aspects of the Mandela Effect is that the misunderstanding is very widespread, and that doesn't seem to be the case here. So far, it seems to be limited to the OP, and they're not too sure about their own memory on this.
