As you may or may not be aware, there are actual damage attribute spells already in the game. However they are normally not available in the game for use. You can access the spells using the Construction set and you can even add them to your character using console.
Now since you couldn't use console on xbox, here is where my theory comes into play.
There is a rare glitch in the game that that will randomly cause you to learn a random spell in the game out of nowhere when quick loading saves.
There are a couple instances where I quicksaved a game before entering the Oblivion Realm so I could reload the save if I didn't get the specific Oblivion world I wanted or saving my game before entering a certain area hoping for a specific item to be generated in a chest. Reloading the game multiple times has occasionally caused the glitch and I learned a random spell.
There is a possibility that you experienced the glitch and randomly learned one of the damage attribute spells. The programming for damage attribute spells to unlock the Spellmaking altar is already in the game, so if you learned the spell through the glitch, you would have been able to create spells with it.
We could be looking at a case of the Mandela Effect. After all, it's popped up in all sorts of places. However, I'm not sure that it's actually what we're seeing, as one of the main aspects of the Mandela Effect is that the misunderstanding is very widespread, and that doesn't seem to be the case here. So far, it seems to be limited to the OP, and they're not too sure about their own memory on this.
