MD Saddlebags V3 [www.nexusmods.com] is popular one.
But you need install OBSE [obse.silverlock.org] first

I use Donkey mod "Benjamin the donkey".
Its works very fine without OBSE.

I'm not sure if it works with all player owned horses but if they are essential you should be able to access their inventory to transfer items across while in sneak mode and hitting F just as they are waking up from being knocked unconscious. It's like you are pickpocketing them but you only have a narrow window where it works so it takes a bit of trial and error and it's not ideal because you have to knock them unconscious first which can take a lot of effort especially with a horse like Shadowmere. It's not something I do, just pointing it out as an option.
