Peryite Quest crashing
When i say i'm prepared to enter Peryite's Shrine i get transported there. When i try to turn around to see behind me, the game crashes. Any ideas wtf is going on?

yep it's a bug caused by hitting/attacking the followers at his shrine while thier unconscious.Even if you don't hit them it'll still crash, don't use the console to finish this quest as his followers will just stand there,i save about every 3 minutes as it'll crash when you jump or pickup something

http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Peryite i just use TGM in the console and cross the lava
I didn't interact with the followers at his shrine other than activating them to see which one i can talk to. Then i got the message saying they're unresponsive, etc. and the quest started. I loaded an earlier save from when i didn't do anything other.Just approached the shrine. Get to Peryite's realm and the same thing happens. It's quite ridiculous... The UOP still hasn't fixed many things. I'd love to know why. There are still game breaking bugs like this one.
i've got a very stable game ( with the patches ) and that's one quest that crashes at least 8 times before i finish it,it's the only time i use quicksave,in all honesty i don't know why this crashes so much, none of the Oblivion gates crash possible sound bug ? i'm not sure

I think you can still submit bug reports to Quarn, looks like they still work on it,but yeah it's a pain as you have to do all Deadric quests to get the Oghma Infinium
Been having this issue since last year. It alternates between crashing after selecting yes on Peryite's shrine to go to Oblivion, or when I turn around after I arrive. If I don't turn around and run straight and jump across the lava to the soul over there, I usually crash before I can get close enough to talk to the soul to update the quest.
This was the top Google results and still had no answer so I decided to troubleshoot a little bit and found a way to complete the quest. There is no way to fix this without uninstalling it and reinstalling the game, and even then I'm not quite sure that would help.

If you're not having any luck at ALL trying to play the quest normally then you're just going to have to use the console to beat the quest. As soon as you spawn into the plane of oblivion immediately open the console with ~ and type "movetoqt" NO QUOTATION MARKS. the command will take you to each NPC individually so you won't have to move your character and risk crashing to the desktop. You can move around a little bit if you need to interact with a soul, but do not move around too much.

P.S. MAKE SURE THE QUEST IS YOUR CURRENTLY ACTIVE QUEST
