The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

Is there anyway to destroy the Dark Brotherhood?
That is all.

By killing them all
Why would you do that?

Have you completed the Dark Brotherhood quest? I don't think there is a way to eliminate them but there are mods worth checking out. The DB questline was one of the most enjoyable experiences of the game for me and I don't visit often but I still like to drop in.

when you are the listener you are the only one taking new jobs for the Dark Brotherhood so if you never take on new jobs in theory the faction progression should stall. This doesn't happen in game but it would make life more interesting if it did. If a guild doesn't get enough income to keep the coffers filled it leads to a gradual decline in order and eventually disbandment.

I got to the last quest, when the surviving speakers of the Black Hand unwittingly lead the traitor to the Night Mother's crypt... and I just left them in there and walked away. Okay, I was actually aiming to do what arottweiler did, but my save corrupts every time I complete the quest. In hindsight, I think leaving the quest incomplete is even better. Maybe I'll install a mod with a lock spell and lock them in.

You can just use console commands to lock it.

Eh, it's bad enough I have to use console commands to fetch the staves, weapons, and shields that fall through the ground. I'd rather not use them if I don't have to.

But this doesn't actually affect the main gameplay

I once used the mod called Versus the Dark Brotherhood, it's a very simple and small mod, but it works as advertised.

Here -> nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/13139/?

Be sure to read the description on how to start it and be prepared...
