Confused about something.
So I was going through Underpall Keep, and all of a sudden I get a message.

"Relmyna Verenim is unconscious."

This is strange. She's not supposed to be in Underpall Keep! I keep going for a bit, blowing it off, until the damndest thing happens. I actually run into her walking around, full of arrows and being chased by a skeleton.

Why is she here? What caused this? Could it be a load order thing? Here's a list of mods that are running. Shivering Isles is also running, but none of the other DLC, as I don't have this game on Steam, I have a CD release, but I never got Knights of the Nine or any of the one-off DLCs. Also OBSE is going, but I don't know which version. The latest thing I've installed is Shivering Isles, the mods related to it I carried over, but didn't activate until I actually got SI going.

Things mods I made myself are doing.

- There's a magic portal in Underpall Reflecting Pool that goes directly to Rotten Den Encampment so I can go to the Isles without starting the main quest to do so. (this one seems the most important to bring up, though I don't think Relmyna Verenim ever goes to Rotten Den in the first place.)

- Antipodean Hammer quest actually finishes.

- There's a tent in a cave (in Cyrodiil, not on the Shivering Isles).

- Light Iron Shield's name is changed.

- Edgar Vautrine sells Destruction and Conjuration training spells.

- Fort Virtue's lever works correctly.

- Something that makes more armor usable.

- Removed Porphyric Hemophilia.

- A custom ring is added to random loot that gives a Restore Attributes (all 7, 1 point each) lesser power when equipped.

- Removed Reflect Damage from Ring of the Iron Fist.

- Something about Oblivion's main quest. I don't remember what this one does, actually. I think it removes a bunch of entries from the tutorial.

It certainly sounds to be related to your "magic portal". I would imagine it's screwing up a pathnode grid[cs.elderscrolls.com], and she decided it might be a shortcut to her bedroom or whatever.

It wouldn't surprise me if other NPCs have been popping through as well.

What I don't follow about that is that the portal is set in the Reflecting Chamber, while Relmyna showed up in the Keep cell, and furthermore it puts out to Rotten Den Encampment, which is somewhere she has no business being. She'd have to be in a cell that she never goes to to actually use the portal.

Plus her schedule evidently doesn't move her out of her room in Passwall until you see the adventurers get smoked by the Gatekeeper, and I haven't even gotten the Door in Niben Bay quest at this point.

I'll see what the load order is and screw with it, I guess.

I did that. Shivering seemed to come before any of the Shivering mods, so dunno if it's that.

If you're going to add a door, put it on a pedestal/platform with no navmesh, and large enough so the door is out of their "reach".

The AI in Oblivion was a bit scary; they actually had to remove an NPC during development that was collecting all the high-value enchanted gear.

I still don't understand how she'd go through it if it's in a cell she never goes to, ever.

The question would be "why does she never go there?", and the answer may well be "because there was never any incentive until you opened up this new path".
