This Game Is Really Bad
Who thought up the leveling system for this game. It's horrifc. Really, really, bad.

It might just be the worst leveling system ever devised for a video game bar none.

It's possible to kind of mess up your game... if I'm remembering correctly.

If you chose skills such as Acrobatics and Athletics as your Major skills, and then go around running and jumping everywhere, you'll level up more frequently.

Enemies scale to your overall character level... and if you've "power leveled" by leveling Acrobatics and Athletics, your other skills and equipment might be lacking as enemies become stronger.

But besides that, I like the 'skill' leveling system. Your skills become stronger the more you use them... rather than you just accumulating an arbitrary count of EXP and then allocating your awarded stat points wherever you like.

I'd have to agree with you about the levelling system, that's why I used a mod to bypass it. There are a few options available that greatly improve on it over at the Nexus.

why would you like that system

Because it's a lot better than what Bethesda came up with in this game. They were clearly trying to create a hybrid between a skill based system and one where you can assign points where you want, like in the Fallout games. But they did a really crappy job of it. The levelling system was one of the biggest complaints about Oblivion when it was in it's prime, which us why they did a complete overhaul with Skyrim.

I think u need to have major skills as the ones u don't use. And the use the skills ur character wants to specialize in

TESO leveling system sounds good in theory. More times you use cetrain skill, better you become with that kind of magic etc. Too bad that in reality it just ends up to jumping around while spamming Starlight. Game probably would be much better with regular XP bar and without autoleveling
The most realistic system ever made in the game.

Imagine if your skills in life are "jerking-off" and "sleeping", the others level around you just as fast and life becomes harder if you don't make the right choices and put effort into them.

better than Skyrim's plenty of mods to change it if you want to

its not bad, just counter-intuitive. I enjoyed figuring out how it worked on the 360 through multiple playthroughs. unlike skyrim, you can definately fail at leveling your character. choosing athletics and or acrobatics can hinder your leveling in an unfavorable way, so keep them out of your major skills. otherwise, there are many mods that change the way levelling works.

That one thing doesn't ruin the entire game. I don't like the levelling system either but the game is still a lot of fun.
