With them i can play many hours without crashing:
I use:
-Engine Bug Fixes
-NVAC (New Vegas Anti crash, also works for Oblivon; helped me very very much!)
-Fast Exit: For crashes when closing the game
- OneTweak: Many different fixes like working Alt-tabbing
With these 4 core Plugins, the game is very stable! You can find them on Oblivon Nexus or just google them.
Remember, you need Oblivion Script Extender first!
Also you should install the lastest unofficial Oblivion Patch.
Hope i could help you
(under "Stability Mods; OBSE plugins, Fixes & Patches)
It's all you need. Especially Enboost, give it a try.
If you keep crahsing then it's probably due to a modding error/conflict or simply your hardware.
THANK-YOU!!!
I had been living with the effects of the A bomb glitch for so long without realising it and only discovered that about 10 minutes ago while reading about the Engine Bug Fixes plugin. The flames on torches and fireplaces appeared frozen, the visual effects of casting spells on myself took ages to complete and doors took hours to open but after installing Engine Bug Fixes all of that is now fixed. I've already got Fast Exit but will now check out NVAC and OneTweak.
Thanks again because now the A bomb glitch is fixed the game will be much more enjoyable. I missed looking at the licking flames of cozy fireplaces :)
It seems to me like it should be as essential as the Unofficial Patch.
I see people talking about Wrye Bash and Boss and a Bashed Patch but have to admit I've never really understood exactly what all that does and if I really need it. My setup is just OBMM so when I manually install a mod I check it in the OBMM list and load up the game. I've had a few issues over the years and in my current game discovered a few areas on the map that became no-go areas but apart from that it's been stable and the freezing issues seem to be mostly fixed by the Engine Bug Fixes mod. If two mods place a building in the same place can that be fixed with a bashed patch and does Wrye Bash have a user friendly interface to manage mods easier than OBMM? I'm trying to work out if I need to switch to Wrye Bash without delay or if I don't need to.
It sounds like I do but would I need to start a new game and install mods from scratch or can I install in to my current game and it will detect all the mods in the data folder and I can just start launching that instead of the OBMM shortcut?
That link is just what I needed, thanks. I'm going to spend some time reading about it before I start making changes and it will clearly lead to a better experience that is something I should have done long ago. I always thought it was something for people who didn't like installing mods manually but I certainly have egg on my face now.
