The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Oblivion Keeps Crashing (Win 10)
Ok, so every time I load a game and start playing it works fine but then after 5 mins it just stops working altogether. I've tried downloadinf the unofficial patch, deleted the .ini, ran it in compatibility mode, but nothing seems to help. Anyone have any suggestions?

i gutted my W10 install, got rid of One Drive XBone store the list goes on,if you have another drive try installing to that, the UAC will sometimes block the game files being read properly, could be a running task in the background, antivirus

Have a read through this

I have the Steam and Gog versions of Oblivion and never have tried to play it except on a Windows 10 machine.

I just finished the Main Quest and it took about 140 hours split between Steam and Gog. I will not say it ran perfect, Steam version locks up consistantly when I tried to exit to the steam community via Shift-Tab, but on the whole it ran fine with a couple of lockups that never repeated themselves.

I doubt that Windows 10 is the problem.

It works fine for me, on Windows 10. No odd quirks either, Steam Community works okay and everything.

I got 99% lockup. Once it did not. Wish I knew your secret because I have an alarm that kicks off at 8 PM every night. I have to shut the game down to kill the alarm.

It is the alarm that causes the lockup when I shft tab and try to exit to shut it down.

Go figure that one.
