I honestly cannot fathom how any of these can conflict.
Update-
So I disabled Oblivion Reloaded.esp but I still get the crash.
2. Download clean copy of Oblivion.
3. Download Unofficial Patch, Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch, Unofficial DLC Patch, and extract them into oblivion in same order.
4. Download OBSE and extract.
5. Download Oblivion Stutter Remover (will prevent crashing when exiting the game also), leave everything at default settings, but set preferable max fps in the ini file from OSR.
6. Download and install Maska's Oblivion Overhaul.
7. Download Character Overhaul and blockhead and install them.
8. Activate all plugins and re-order them.
9. Launch oblivion mod manager, press utilities and open Archive Invalidation tool.
10. Leave radio button at BSA Redirection and press Reset BSA timestamps.
11. Tick Pack face textures into redirection target BSA and press Update now.
Everything should work this way. Maybe clean install is not necessary but if you did everything in that order and it doesn't work, you should still consider doing a clean install.
when I combine oblivonreloaded and window mode its a crash like yours.
nah, thats not fully true.
Ive used NMM with around 230 esp without any problem (had a good +100 hour run). Ofc I used bashed patch but NMM works well with oblivion. its a hassel because as you said, nmm isnt made with oblivion in mind.
So now I go into OBMM and click create, then add archive in the new menu, I click the Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul.7z then wait for it to load in, click create omod, the compression is set to high, then I wait about 30m, it finishes, and I double click it back in the original menu, now I check all the features I want including HGEC body replacer, which apparently is included in Maskar's Overhaul, or so it says, and then finish it.
I repeat that process to turn the character overhaul into an omod since the readme says it should be loaded into NMM and I don't want to use NMM, and it also says not to do a manual extraction install, so I turn it into an omod and it then tells me it conflicts with another omod, and the only other omod I have is Maskar's overhaul so it must be HGEC, I grab the HGEC patch and blockhead, install them both via extraction.
I tick all of the mods in OBMM, then run BOSS to force them into a load order, BOSS lies and tells me nothing is conflicting at all, and that the process was completed, I ran BOSS twice more and twice more it's wrong and says everything is fine.
So the install process is complete, now I go into utilities and run archive invalidation, leaving BSA redirection checked, and click reset timestamps, I get no notification or visual cue that anything happened so I move on and tick pack face textures, then run the invalidator, it says done a moment later, and I close OBMM.
I go into steam, steam overlay is enabled, and I run Oblivion, razor disabled most if not all background applications, and Oblivion runs, I click play, get a loud audio glich where the music repeats, then Oblivion starts, I hit space to skip the Bethesda logo, and during the initial loading screen I crash.
Before I only crashed when starting a new game so it seems now that I'm worse off than I was before.
maybe delete the ini.files found in /user/mygames/oblivion
