Stuck in slow walk

for some reason I can't Jog/Fast walk. I'm stuck at moving at the slowest movement speed possible.

anyone know a fix?

I am using an Xbox One controller along with JoytoKey and disabling the controller input in the Oblivion.ini helped remove the slow bug. You can use JoyToKey if you are running it as administrator without Oblivion detecting the controller input, thus allowing you to use the Xbox One controller. Capslock will switch between the normal speed run and walk. Hopefully this helps anyone with the same issue who bought the game during the 2020 winter sale like I did.

Edit: If you are using windows 10 just type into the search bar "Oblivion.ini" and hit enter to open the file directly, otherwise for steam users it's under the steamapps file like your other games.

Are you over-encumbered? Check the carry weight in your inventory or if there any active debuffs for strength or movement speed.

I litterly just started the game. I'm walking around the dungeon under the prison like someone broke both my legs.

I don't remember the console port playing like this and from all the footage I can find on youtube You should walk much faster than this

You've got a controller plugged in right? You could go to the settings ingame and disable joystick or controller? I can't exactly remember if the option exists. Anyways, unplug your controller and see if it works.

go into third person so you can see if your character starts the run animation. Then spam any key you think might help the run/walk button (default is shift) and the toggle run/walk (default is caps lock). Next if no luck with the previous try to make another character a high elf for good measure (fastest default race) and test to see if your first character was bugged somehow.

note no resarch was done to conclude this so it may be a known bug with a fix already out there

It's a simple bug, you probably hit a slow walk-button annd then talked to someone or loaded another areal or opened the quest-GUI.

simple fix when in slowmode: press capslock to run again->press escape->press capslock again->there you go, problem solved

All you have to do is unplugged your controller(s) from your PC that is the problem, at least that is what caused it for me.

Are you in sneak mode. You will walk slowwwwly in sneak mode.

If u only started, then u have to wait till u will be able to go with *someone* to *somewere* (no spoilers mode). If u already *in* then try to restart (u lose nothing). Or check out some fixes on nexus mods...

Everytime you create new character just press CAPS LOCK. save the game, exit the game. Turn off CAPS LOCK, open game and load your save. Your character will now always run, unless you will press left shift(walking).
