Obse loader not launching on Steam Oblivion.
I have no idea how to get obse to work, i tried launching it manually, or by renaming obse and launching through steam, i tried the launcher.exe and oblivion.exe and i tried downloading a file, nothing works.
does anyone have knowledge on this topic?
I don't have any DLC on my physical copy of the game so thats a no-go

When using the STEAM version you don't load the game from a new shortcut like you would with the non-STEAM version. It tells you this in the installation instructions. You just copy the specific files that it tells you to into your oblivion/data folder and launch the game through the regular STEAM shortcut.

Installation/launch instructions are different for STEAM/non-STEAM versions of OBSE.

Yeah i read and installed with the steam instructions. yet obse still refues to load and mods like blockhead won't function properly.
i googled around and other people seem to have the same problem. im guessing obse needs an update but idoubt that will happen

Hmm... I installed it as per the instructions for STEAM users and it seems to work for me. Only mods I use are Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul, unofficial patches and Darnified UI. I'm pretty sure OBSE is required for at least Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul... right?

It's not actually
it probally doesn't work for you either. if you download obse tester on nexus you can know for sure

I suspect you're just not installing it correctly, I've never see any other posts about it not working for people. You've been the only one who seems to have a problem with it. It's definitely working in my game, I even ran that tester mod to be sure.

I have OBSE installed for EngineBugFixes and quite a few mods. All are working, and on each load I get the OBSE activation alert at the top of my screen. I'd check how you have it installed again, and ensure you have Steam overlay active.

Welp i found the problem
i had everything correctly installed.
except, i managed to not see the "obse_steam_loader.dll" and i instead copied the regulair loader.

Also I had exactly the same problem and after hours of looking for the answers I finally found it. I simply pressed the 'Play' on the Steam Oblivion tab in My Library and voila OBSE_Steam_loader loads with the game and works a treat. If I try to use the Oblivion.exe or Oblivion Launcher in the Oblivion folder or desktop shortcuts that come with the game, OBSE_Steam_Loader failed to load everytime. Hope this helps anyone who is also suffering with the same problem.
