How much disk space does this game take
How much disk space does this game take while it is downloading? When I look at my purchase history it says I brought the GOTY deluxe but when I right click on the game it only says I have the GOTY dlc.

So I started installing it and it says it's taking 5170mb. Is that the correct size for the GOTY Deluxe one?

When I downloaded GOTY Deluxe, it said it was 8,000-ish mb (Roughly 8 gigs.)

You already have the DLC installed so that probably cut down a little bit of the size of it.

oh. I dont mean i have it installed yet. I meant when I right clicked on it in the library just to see what it says in the DLC tab.

Mines 5170mb which is a fair bit less than what you have... I'm still in the process of downloading the game but that doesnt look good so far.

Just finished installing it. It only came to 5.57gb installed but in the data folder I can see:
DLCBattlehornCastle.bsa
DLCBattlehornCastle.esp
DLCFrostcrag.bsa
DLCFrostcrag.esp
DLCHorseArmor.bsa
DLCHorseArmor.esp
DLCList.txt
DLCMehrunesRazor.esp
DLCOrrery.bsa
DLCOrrery.esp
DLCShiveringIsles - Meshes.bsa
DLCShiveringIsles - Sounds.bsa
DLCShiveringIsles - Textures.bsa
DLCShiveringIsles - Voices.bsa
DLCShiveringIsles.esp
DLCSpellTomes.esp
DLCThievesDen.bsa
DLCThievesDen.esp
DLCVileLair.bsa
DLCVileLair.esp
Knights.bsa
Knights.esp
Oblivion - Meshes.bsa
Oblivion - Misc.bsa
Oblivion - Sounds.bsa
Oblivion - Textures - Compressed.bsa
Oblivion - Voices1.bsa
Oblivion - Voices2.bsa

so it looks like everythings there. Strange how yours was bigger. Maybe the localization stuff?

Don't know, probably so.
I'll give it another look and come back with an actual number!

It's roughly around 5-6 gbs depending on how many dlcs you have. With mods the size increases quite a lot

Sorry to comment on an old post but I'm worried about the same thing. I redeemed the Deluxe version which I bought from Green Man Gaming but in my Steam library I can't see a mention of 'Deluxe' or 'Shivering Isles'. In my data folder I have 'DLCShiveringIsles - Meshes.bsa' etc so I guess I do have it? Did you end up playing Shivering Isles okay with your install? Thank you!! :)

Shivering isles is on both versions of the game . Goty game comes with shivering isles and knights of the nine. Goty deluxe comes with those as well as the extra houses and quest dlcs.

Thank you for your fast reply :) somehow I've never played Oblivion before so I didn't know much about the different versions/DLCs. Should I be worried that it doesn't mention 'deluxe' in my game library or game title screen or is that normal? Is there an easy way to check about the extra houses/which version I have? Thanks so much!!

Steam for all intents and purposes thinks deluxe and goty are the same thing (so if you own one it says you own both which you don't, and if you wanted to upgrade you'd have to get steam to remove the game from your library and buy the other one at full price).

You should be able to see what version you have if you open the game so the launcher comes up (thing that has play, data files, settings, etc) and click data files. You will see shivering isles.esm, knights of the nine.esm files, and if you have deluxe the other ones like horse armor.esp should also be in there.

Thanks for the information! In my data files I do have 'DLCHorseArmor.esp' so that's a good sign.

The only .esm file I have in there is 'Oblivion.esm', but I do have 'Knights.bsa' and 'Knights.esp' so perhaps that is knights or the nine and I've got everything. :)

Yeah if you got the horse armour and other dlc then you do in fact have goty edition. The other two big expansions are included in both so you should be fine.
