The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

Does the game continue after the main quest?
I'm the kind of guy who plays the DLCs after the main quest. Some Bethesda games like Fallout 3 (without Broken Steel) and Fallout New Vegas don't let you continue after completing the main story, so that's the reason I'm asking if it's the same thing with Oblivion.

P.S.: In case you're wondering why I don't have the game in my Steam Library. I play it on console. I just thought I would get an faster answer on Steam.

Thanks, short and simple, that's all I needed to know.

you can do every quest in the game in how ever order you want to

I think Arena and Daggerfall are the only main TES games that don't let you continue playing after the main quest.

The first one because the main quest is pretty much the only real quest.

The second one because you die at the end of the main quest

...You would've been spoiled by reading books in Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim as well, to be honest >_>

I was being sarcastic though.

Oh, I know. I wasn't responding to you :P Just the general sentiment of spoiling Daggerfall.

Most of the DLCs don't add very much in terms of quests. It's really just one quest and the thing is done. Many of them are just housing options, and the "quests" are just getting them setup.

The Knights of the Nine is the only DLC with any type of story. Shivering Isles is an expansion pack and has a rather large amount to it compared to "DLCs". Both can be really done at any time, but SI makes more sense lorewise if you have at least been to Kvatch.

Whoa. I haven't expected that many replies. I basically asked a yes or no question. But I appreciate the help, and I'm glad that there still are people who are ready to help on such an old game.

Well, I don't read books in the game for the most part. I only even click on it if it is expensive to see if it is a skill book. Or if it is an elder scroll; always gotta have those.

Haha. That's what you get when a game is so great that people who don't care about the lore enjoy the game too. Sorry (not!) :steammocking:

In Morrowind reading was much more important due to the key backround events being very murky. Was the Tribunal's version of events at Red Mountain the real story or not? Due to that I pretty much read every book.

One of my happiest moments was when I found a Sixth House base with a room full of rare books. I went over every book to see if there was any good bits of lore.

Once you complete the main quest, you have to find (and read) all the volumes of "The Lusty Argonian Maid" then you can do everything else.
