Oblivion GOTY Disc won't install on win10
Hey

Whenever i try to install it it says "This program isn't compatible with the operating system that is used on this computer. Please upgrade to Windows98. Windows2000 or later." And shows this link http://www.securom.com/message.asp?m=os&c=1000+&l=en

I am not good with computers but i don't know what to do and searching online for a solution hasn't yielded anything that works. I double click the icon that shows up, it play a little bit of music, and then it shows that error message ^^.

I know this issue is a bit common

If I remember correctly, Securom was a widespread "griefware" that was a questionable
install whether done on purpose or inadvertantly. Caused lots of gamers and others
all sorts of endless problems. I was never "infected" with it myself so don't have any
personal experience to recommend, but there are many hits if you search
"how to delete Securom".

Since you're not computer comfortable try to pick a method that seems simpler
for you and possibly try to avoid registry editing solutions unless you feel adventurous!

And check around nexus mods, this forum and other places to find out about
some "essential" patches and mods you want to install once you get the game
running. Obllivion Reloaded, Better Cities, Oblivion Character Overhaul and others
make the game look not that bad for as old as it is and ramp up the enjoyability
factor even more.

I'm having this same issue. I purchased the GOTY dual-CD set some 10-15 years ago when it came out. I had it installed on several Windows machines over the years with no problems. I just built a new Windows 10 computer that won't run it in compatability mode. The fact that I own the CD should theoretically allow me to install a Windows 10 version via Steam; but the only way I can see to do this (since Oblivion has no CD key) is to add programs that are already installed to Steam. Since Oblivion won't install from the disc to Windows 10, I'm in a catch-22.

It's too bad this is happening as it is an awesome game. Anyone know any workarounds?
