How to fix the Distant Land LOD visual/graphical glitch/bug in Oblivion [SOLVED]
https://i.imgur.com/ZGz6sHD.jpeg

I'm currently using Intel HD graphics since my GPU died and have to play at poop graphics. I've searched this glitch a lot and no one pointed out the actual solution. The problem is the strange very low resolution invisible ground clipping above the actual ground.

One quick fix you can do is going to the launcher and selecting the Medium option and it will get fixed (at least it did for me). The issue here is that it also ups a few other hidden graphical options making the FPS tank to the ground.

So I investigated the changes between the Very low setting oblivion.ini and compared the changes to the medium one. Tried every single setting that was changed one at a time and narrowed it down to the following option.

To fix this issue you have to go to Oblivion.ini which is in your Documents/My Games/Oblivion folder. Then go to the [Display] section and you should find this option a few lines below that.

bFullBrightLighting=1

Change it to 0:

bFullBrightLighting=0

I know it's 2017 and a lot of people are using decent ish graphics to run Oblivion at max settings but if you ever encounter this issue, just let you know that I felt necessary to help others with this issue.

If the error still persists then maybe you have some other mods which change LOD and other distant land settings.
