Imagine if those same people online promoted games like Silent Hill 1-4, or even smaller games like Lost in Vivo. Although that would obviously be less marketable to kids, which as we all know is what horror is really about lol.
You're just mad these games are popular at the moment, at literally no detriment to your own life or gaming experience. You're basically behaving like a hipster, or some old person who hates anything new and mainstream.
Do I prefer quality horror experiences? Of course. And that's where I put my money. But this was a free game demo, who the hell complains about free things? Someone who likes complaining just for the sake of it.
Every other time he appears in a game other than 2 makes no sense since he was made specifically to tie into 2 and nothing else.
