The dreams
Reading UESP it seems that in the Dagoth Ur dreams you have as you advance in the main quest you're supposed to see things (a guy in a golden mask, people at a table, etc.) I only see a black screen. Is something wrong with my game?

I dont rember actually seeing the things, but I'm pretty sure I remember journal updates telling you.

Yeah the journal says what I saw, it's only the dream itself that's black. I just wanted to know if that's as it's supposed to be.

You never actually see the dreams. You just get a journal update with the details after you wake up.

OK thanks.

A dialogue box pops up when you awake, describing the dream. That's it. And if you check your journal (default key 'J' ) then your character records them in there as well. That would be a really cool mod though if someone animated movies for those dreams. Hmmm......

Hm, are you using the Morrowind Overhaul? Because if I remember correctly (I don't use it myself anymore) that compilation includes a mod called "Sleepers, Awake!" which adds voiced dialogue to the dreams, though they are black. In vanilla Morrowind there were no dreams, only a dialogue box that pops up when you wake up.

Oh yes, I hear dialogue.

yea thats normal, I thought my mod was busted when the screen was black, I wasnt actually listening to the game audio when the voice over was going on. In Vanilla there is a dialogue box that tells you about the dream and describes it, then if you check your journal there will be more info. The journal entry is what the Voice over in the Overhaul mod is based off of. It's supposed to be Dagoth Ur speaking to you.

I wonder, was it something hidden in the game files or did the MO team act it? It's really good.

It's audio hidden within the game files. The dreams were meant to be cutscenes, but never got made due to time constraints, so they just put them in plain text.
