Spell/Scroll Casting
And magic weapons too, in the early going . Whats up with not being able to cast anything but the tiny 5-point health powerup ring? I realize that depending on your class, you will start with more or less ''magicka''/mana, but when you acquire scrolls and weapons in the first part of the game, do you have to ''level up'' to meet the requirements to use these? And when you do, how do the keyboard controls ''cast'' the spell? [ or allow the ''magic hit'' when using say a ''firesword'' which has a critical role in the early part when you are mission-sent into a tomb with hostile spirits who are knocking your health meter down?]
It would be great for such ES newbies as us to learn, as at the moment, I am simply slowly gaining XPs on the needed ''mage/magic'' skills while running around chopping up and getting into fights with all kinds of strange creatures.[ warrior class. Around 60 average with Steel Claymore two-hander and Dwarven armor at 23]. Some of the FAQs from 2002 are so old that they have been discontinued on line. Riding around on a giant flea is definately a trip though and the game, at least for me on the WINDOWS 7, is running smooth.

To cast spells choose a spell in the magic section of your inventory, the part that unlocks after you find the engraved ring of healing in the barrel at character creation, press "R" then press the left mouse button. All enchanted items and scrolls are there as well. There are no level requirments on enchanted items, if the enchantment strikes you as weak it's because it's a weak enchantment. Spells have a chance to fail based on your level, your fatigue (how low it is), and your luck attribute.

Enchanted items have to be equiped to be used, an enchanted sword is useful in killing anything whether you use the enchantment or not, but try to stick with the "Cast When Strikes" enchantments for most weapons. There are higher level weapons that have more useful enchantments that aren't but high level equipment in Morrowind won't just start appearing because you are higher level, you must find it. I have never even found a full suit of Daedric armor, and it weighs as much as 300, and I have been playing this since it was new.
