Dunmer melee class?
Yea, I'd like to play as dunmer and I'd like to try a melee class.

Maybe something with shield and short swords since they got +10 for it? What would be the best class for character like that? Or should I make my own class? And if I do, should I just pick the skills that has bonuses or.. how :D? I've never made a custom class before.

You can actually be much more successful creating your own class, just remember that you need a good mix of Major and Minor skills that will help you level your desired attributes. Found this guide when I started Morrowind again recently, it was good for refreshing my memory.

Hello there Stabbykittenh.I play as a Dunmer Nightblade and used the stock in game class model. However, if you want you could make your own custom class by just taking the in game Nightblade and switch out the skills that are less useful for a Dunmer and put all the Dark Elf skills in 1st that the race gets bonuses to. Then after that, you should still have room enough for 2-3 other skills of your choice that you feel would be more suitable "FOR" your chosen class. For example: Set your Major skills as:Short Blade,Destruction,Light Armor,Sneak, and Athletics. Minor skills as:Longblade,Marksman,Mysticism. Then 2 others of your choice. I hope this helps you out.If you have more questions about Morrowind feel free to ask me or (PM) me.

I'm also playing as a dark elf, combining destruction and short blade with light armor and a bit of acrobatics :P The rest is up to you, but it is quite essential to choose light armor + destruction (would be a waste not to use it since the race has a high bonus to it) + short blade. I'd choose long blade as a minor skill, because long swords are pretty and it's a nice change from short sword at a higher level. Dark elves also have a bonus to long swords, so that comes in handy.

Hmm.. guess I may start a new character aswell :D

I did make one and its skills are something like this..

Major:
Long sword
Heavy armor
Athletics (or acrobatics, can't remember)

and the rest of the skills (2 of these are major and rest minor, can't remember them right now :D); markmanship, acrobatics (or athletics), security, merchanansnawhatever, personality, sneaking and.. god, can't remember the last one :D I guess I gotta make new character..

Yeah, that may be best. Just remember to choose as major skills:
1. Short blade
2. Light armor
3. Destruction
4. Rest is up to you, I suggest you look up dunmer on uesp.net to see which bonuses this race has towards certain skills.

Here is a list of what races have what bonuses to what skills.Starting w/Dunmer(Dark Elf). List:(Dark Elf) :+5 to Athletics,+10 to Destruction,+5 to Light Armor,+5 to Long Blade,+5 to Marksman,+5 to Mysticism,+10 to Short Blade. ( Nord): +10 to Axe,+10 to Blunt Weapon,+5 to Heavy Armor,+5 to Long Blade,+10 to Med. Armor,+5 to Spear. (Redguard):+5 to Athletics,+5 to Axe,+5 to Blunt Weapon,+5 to Heavy Armor,+15 to Long Blade,+5 to Med. Armor,+5 to Short Blade. (Breton):+5 to Alchemy,+5 to Alteration,+10 to Conjuration,+5 to Illusion,+10 to Mysticism,+10 to Restoration. (Imperial):+5 to Blunt Weapon,+5 to Hand to Hand,+5 to Light Armor,+10 to Long Blade,+10 to Mercantile,+10 to Restoration. (Wood Elf/Bosmer): +5 to Acrobatics,+5 to Alchemy,+10 to Light Armor,+15 to Marksman,+10 to Sneak. (High Elf/Altmer):+10 to Alchemy,+5 to Alteration,+5 to Conjuration,+10 to Destruction,+10 to Enchantment,+5 to Illusion. (Khajitt): +15 to Acrobatics,+% to Athletics,+5 to Hand to Hand,+5 to Light Armor,+5 to Security,+5 to Short Blade,+5 to Sneak. (Argonian): +5 to Alchemy,+15 to Athletics,+5 to Illusion,+5 to Med. Armor,+5 to Mysticism,+5 to Spear,+5 to Unarmed. (Orc):+10 to Armorer,+5 to Axe,+10 to Block,+10 to Heavy Armor,+10 to Med. Armor. The Orc race does not have as many skill bonuses, but the bonuses in each skill are higher then the other races....(by averages). So really,it just balances it out, though playing as an orc it does not feel like it. If anyone has any more questions about Morrowind, just let me know.
