Morrowind GOTY retail pricing?
Hi guys. For ages, Morrowind GOTY was under £10 at retail outlets (even cheaper at Amazon), however, today I went on Amazon to see the GOTY version (with map etc) priced at £33! Thought I'd check the US site, there it was $29! How come the pricing has shot up through the roof for a game released back in 2003? I know here on steam it's £12.99, but i'm old skool and love TES packaging, particularly the maps (Cyrodiil and Skyrim maps I've had framed with plaque). Was kinda hoping to do the same with Morrowind map, and of course enjoy the game and expansions again. Anyone know why this is?

I noticed this a few months back, too. Dunno why I was looking, I have the original retail and GOTY edition retail, but the game seems to have become expensive all of a sudden. It's obviously out of print now, so it's presumably becoming harder and harder to find copies of it.

It's becoming more difficult to get it new . Ergo, the prices of the few available new copies goes up, and with them, the prices of used copies also. Although, there were a couple on eBay there for less than a tenner, so that's pretty reasonable, even if they are used. It's not like it requires an activation key or anything like that.

It would take a miracle to find it new. I had to buy my copy from Steam when it was on sale. I still have the Original Xbox's GOTY that I had to buy (Again #4) because I played Morrowind so much that the game would just keep breaking. As far as Amazon is concerned, I've seen it from anywhere from $4.99 to $300. I guess it depends on who is selling. My problem is that the price for the guidebook is usually High, I've seen the guidebook go for as much as $200. Right now I think people who never played Morrowind or oblivion has discovered that the Elder Scrolls series is vast and very re playable that sellers who sell the games know, that if someone wants the game bad enough that they will pay any price, others probably don't have a clue what the game so they are just trying to make a living and don't know how valuable to fans of the series.

Agree with this. It was always a popular series, but Skyrim really brought the series to a lot of people who hadn't played TES before.

They're getting older, so they are becoming collectors items kinda. plus TES online is probably why morrowind is more expensive now.

Disclaimer playable with mods lol,

I like skyrim but multiplayer would be fun. Because realistic AI is the aim, just get real people. But 1 reason why it shouldnt be made is because of hackers... oh yeah and teabagging.
