The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Unplayably Slow Framerates
Hey all. I have a system that should be killing Morrowind (I'm running Skyrim on Ultra settings with 30+ mods as reference), but MGSO is slowing the game down to 10-25 FPS. I don't see how this is possible.

When I uncheck Distant Lands and the shaders I can at least get 30 or 35 FPS for interiors, but still 15-20 for exteriors. Plus, this defeats part of the purpose...I want to use these, not ignore them.

System specs:
* OS: Windows 8 64-bit
* GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7970M (2GB GDDR5)
* RAM: 12GB
* Processor: Intel Core i7-3740QM CPU @ 2.70GHz

Tell me if there's anything else I can provide to help solve this.

Yeah the Morrowind Overhaul has some crazy requirements to run at full tilt. Up until the latest update I wasn't even able to run it on the lowest setting on my PC due to not having a top of the line PC. You may want to try it at medium and see if that works? I think the real problem though is that the code isn't optimized very well so not sure how helpful this will really be.

Well, me and my friend both have GTA III, and it runs fine on my laptop (which is from 2006) but on his 2012 laptop it lags like hell. I cant help you with your problems but mabye it's just something about new computers.
turn down the distance and get rid of the ssao, morrwind is an old game and it's engines are not meant for the kinds of things that mgso does, also lower your resolution, 1920x1080 is way too high and this game was not build for widescreen
Is the game using the mobile card? I had a problem with Morrowind were it would use my laptops CPU for rendering and I had to force the program to use my card with the Nvidia contro panel.

Also, the biggest performance hit MSGO has is the LOD, make sure to tone down the render distance to 8-9 cells. The default 30 something just kills performance.

Catalyst Control Center has never worked for me, but I'm going to try forcing Morrowind to use my dedicated graphics card through there.

I've turned down a whole bunch of settings, but I suppose lowering the resolution probably is a good idea...:( Disheartening to have to adjust so much, but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do.

I appreciate the input, everyone! Glad to see a good few Morrowind players around.

My computer has 1 ram, it's still probably the fastest thing running on my computer surprisingly. Don't know why it would be running slow for your computer though.
