The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

What happens: Name your character Nerevar
I'm curious if anyone knows if, any any point in the game, anyone might comment on it or treat you differently if you name your character Nerevar, Indoril Nerevar, or any other variation of that during character creation.

On one hand, I'm not sure Bethesda, even in their golden age, would have thought to do something like that, but considering all the other little attentions to details and all the love and thought put into the development, writing, scripting etc. behind this game... I also wouldn't be entirely surprised if they DID think of that and made characters treat you differently if you use specific names. Kinda like how if you wear ordinator armor in Vivec, you might get attacked on sight because their armor is sacred.

The idea popped into my head since you're often directly mentioned by your chosen name in dialogue, despite never actually being given the option to introduce yourself. Everyone just automatically knows you. So the idea of people actually calling you Indoril Nerevar yo your face, or like... writing it on a Dark Brotherhood contract or other kinds of things sounds very funny to me.

It most likely won't do anything

It won't do anything. There's no name checking or anything like that.

In the code, the player is referred to as %PCName or %PCRace or %PCClass, and then the game replaces that with what you've typed and what you selected.

You'll end up being called Nerevar anyway.
I once made a character called Outlander. Everyone was so friendly !!!
